Ear Candles
The ear candle treatment is a simple and natural healing method that can also be done at home. The ear candle is placed in the external auditory canal. As it burns, the candle generates heat and certain vibration waves in the patient's ear canal. These are due to the chimney effect (a moderate vacuum is created). The movement of the air column inside the candle stimulates the energy centers of the ear and has a “massaging effect” on the eardrum. These physical effects affect blood circulation and relieve pain in the ear, frontal and sinus areas. Thus, the calming and relaxing experience of the ear candle treatment can contribute to the inner balance and relaxation of the patient. The treatment has a positive effect on the patient's general well-being.
Ear candling is recommended:
- in case of minor ear complaints, ear ache, itchy ear, inflammation of the outer auditory canal
- to prevent developing compacted ear wax
- to ease the symptoms of flu, hay fever, cold, sinusitis
- to relief pressure related symptoms in the ear during and following flights
- to unblock waterplug stuck in the ear after bath, or any water activities
- chronic ear problems (tinnitus)
- as an additional relaxational service for massage therapies
- to ease dusty, noisy working environmental effects
